This 2006 B grade Horror/Drama/Comedy kept us entertained throughout. Maybe we lost a bit in translation between Korean and English, because at times we weren't sure if we were watching a black comedy or a family drama within a monster movie backdrop. There were scenes/dialogue that made us laugh, others that were sad and others that made us feel the "typical" horror movie suspence, (
you know when the protagonist is going to go into the dark spooky cellar to innocently check on the fuse box - except we in the audience know the zombie/axe-murderer/vampire is waiting down there for them type of suspence).
Anyway, the story revolves around a humble family that run a convenience trailer/shop on the banks of a river in Seoul. Their lives are turned upside down when one day a monster, (created from chemical waste - this parts a bit lame), emerges from the depths and starts attacking, eating and capturing people for later consumption. Unfortunately for the family, the youngest member is taken and presumed eaten until she makes an unexpected phone call from somewhere in the local sewer system. Despite the familys best efforts to convince the authorites to help, its ultimatley left up to them to take matters into their own hands to find and rescue her. Maybe catch
