Here's the promo for our next pub-cast at the Grand Hotel.

Be sure to support Beach365 tomorrow as they raise funds for our rep teams.

He's Gone Ramsay Street On Us

So since the Tinman is busy being the "sneaky streaky" (his words), on the set of Neighbours in Melbourne this week; there'll will be no pub-cast.
But don't fear; the Offside Films crew have slapped together a quick video-cast whilst Mrs Tinman bails her husband out of another lock-up!

We briefly.... very briefly, touch on Origin, NRL, Rugby, The Ashes (urgh!) and tried to locate the Tinman.

Callista from the Bundaberg Flames drops in prior to her next tournament in Townsville.

And finally our sour grapes award goes to Paul Kent for this article on the Kangaroos and his reasons why they won't be cohesive at this year's world cup.

Indoor Beach Volleyball

Look it was 2 weeks ago, but I was away last week in Gladstone so I couldn't throw this up on the blog...

We had a really good first season. We got to play some great games and make new friends. Sure, we didn't make the grand final; but we still had a lot of fun along the way.
Beach365 is a great venue and we're all looking forward to hitting the sand (and the nets) again in the new season.

The Wizard of Clean!

Had a lot of fun making this promotional video for Ken of K&K Cleaning. (I think Ken did too.) Enjoy!

Getting Offside with Tania D

Got to spend some time with Tania and have a good chat. This video was posted a few weeks ago on youtube... but thought I'd put the link up here too.

Getting Offside with MD

Okay here we go with the first installment of Getting Offside. Our first guest is none other than the brains behind Sporting Sport Opinions; MD.
Mike covers the origins of his blog and shares some of his first sporting memories. Of course he's a proud Australian and a parochial Queenslander, so I asked him what is his favorite thing about our country.

Time to Get Offside!

Something happened last weekend that made me want get off the rum and get offside. It started on Friday night during the closing minutes of the Highlanders Vs Reds Super 15 clash. The scores were close and either team was one mistake, one missed tackle or one bad referring decision away from winning or losing. Would my beloved Reds hold on? The only way to make it through these final seconds it seemed was to reach for the rum... And reach for it I did.
The Reds did win and I was suitably elated. My stomach and sense of balance weren't so impressed. Anyway, the ensuite floor never felt so comfortable ('nuf said).
The following night was the big Sports Flood Appeal and although I managed to help set up during the day, the evening was still a pretty queasy time for me. I was feeling more than a little sorry for myself.
By Sunday afternoon I'd had enough and that's when it hit me - time to start writing again - time to get off the rum - get off the side lines. It's time to get offside.
Time to Get Offside!
I'll be cranking up some interviews with friends, colleagues and counterparts asking them 3 basic questions each episode. Standby for your invitation.

Join The Conversation

Episode 1 - MD & Johnnyjojoshabadoo
He's been providing sporting insight and sporting sports opinions all year long; now he's cranking out the pub-casts! Beaming from the beautiful Coral Cove Resort Bar & Restaurant, the 1/2 hour (ish) episodes cover what's doing in sport each week. I've joined Mike as the side-line reporter and the flavour is unashamedly pro Queensland - pro Australia so some of the content may challenge a few listeners. But hey; that's the point and your opportunity to join the conversation. Tell us what you think. There'll be prizes and auction/raffle items as the show progresses - with proceeds going to local charities, so join in for your chance to win and support. Episode 3 is on tonight.

Tired of the Typical Blow-hards?

There's nothing more frustrating for passionate sports fans than having to contend with inept commentators. You pick a sport broadcast in Australia and I can gurantee that you'll find it more enjoyable with the volume turned right down (it's still good to hear the crowd noises and sound effects). With the digital age you'd think they'd come up with a way to mute the comentary altogether. Anyway's we've just endured another summer of cricket where the same old losers are still behind the mike. Then the footy season starts, (the awsome Qld Reds opened their account in fine style against the Tards) and we have to listen to the pathetic Greg Martin spoil a wonderful come from behind win.
If you're like me and tired of the lameness, tune into SportingSportsOpinions for some fresh analysis.

Better Price Please

Anybody else hanging out for a discount on the 2011 Reds jersey? I see the Wallabies WC one is reduced to $99. Time for the Reds one to be reduced too I think now that the new season's almost upon us. C'mon KooGa; love your gear - your prices... not so much.

What've We Been Watchin'?

This 2006 B grade Horror/Drama/Comedy kept us entertained throughout. Maybe we lost a bit in translation between Korean and English, because at times we weren't sure if we were watching a black comedy or a family drama within a monster movie backdrop. There were scenes/dialogue that made us laugh, others that were sad and others that made us feel the "typical" horror movie suspence, (you know when the protagonist is going to go into the dark spooky cellar to innocently check on the fuse box - except we in the audience know the zombie/axe-murderer/vampire is waiting down there for them type of suspence).
Anyway, the story revolves around a humble family that run a convenience trailer/shop on the banks of a river in Seoul. Their lives are turned upside down when one day a monster, (created from chemical waste - this parts a bit lame), emerges from the depths and starts attacking, eating and capturing people for later consumption. Unfortunately for the family, the youngest member is taken and presumed eaten until she makes an unexpected phone call from somewhere in the local sewer system. Despite the familys best efforts to convince the authorites to help, its ultimatley left up to them to take matters into their own hands to find and rescue her. Maybe catch The Host on World Movies and see what you think.

Taking it to Twitter

So it's probabably time to start posting more. Maybe I can "broaden the broadcast"? I was going to use this post as a test to see if it appears elsewhere. Then I thought I'd write something clever...............

I'm just going to use this as a test.
