Radike Samo!

How good's this guy? 35 years old. Hasn't played for the Wallabies since 2004. Told he was "too old" by other Super 15 teams, but Ewen McKenzie saw something at the start of the season and took him on. What's he achieved? Well how about the Super 15 title for the mighty Queensland Reds! He was included in the Wallabies training squad. Played a couple of tests off the bench and now gets his first start in over 6 years! Well done that man. Big test this weekend though - huge! It's the number one team in the world - the All Blacks. I've no doubt he'll serve up the same stuff that's reignited his career this season and there's every chance the Wallabies will be lifting the Tri Nations trophy for the first time in 10 years this Saturday night. You can see by the adjoining photo that he's modeled his current hair style on one I used to sport!

How Do You Know the Meeting's Over....?

Well it's usually after someone at the table breaks wind!
The scenario; long day in the Qld Govt challet at the 2011 Bundaberg Air Show. Meeting with Government stakeholders and potential investors. Conversations are going well. Alliances are being forged. Interest is being peaked. And then it happens.... Someone serves up the ole' one cheek sneek and everyone scatters!

Property Management

So I go to take some photos of a damaged property; Apparently tenants think its a good idea to set fire to the garage occasionally.

Anyways, whilst driving to the site, I happen upon a group of police waiting by the side of the road probably 500m from my destination. It was funny because I thought to myself, "what are these tenants up to now! ha ha" and I kept heading to my destination. Before I arrived I could see people running around the front of the property, but I didn't think anything of it. I pulled up out front and as I was about to go 'round to take photos - the neighbour called out to me, "mate! don't go in there... there's a bloke releasing a gas bottle in the building and he's threatening to blow the place up! Get out of here!"
Ah...that's what the police are doing...

What've We Been Watchn'?

This movie was on one of the free to air channels recently and we really enjoyed it. (So much so, that Callista bought a copy for $9.99 at Target.) I never bothered to see it at the cinema and had no intention of renting it on DVD. Most movies I watch nowadays is whatever comes up on the Movie Network channels. It's pretty silly but there's a series of funny moments in just about every scene that makes it worth watching again.
Chaka from the TV Show

I think our favourite character would have to be Chaka, mainly because of his "demonstrative dance" to the Andrews Sisters classic; "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy".

Every family has a character like this guy... who's yours? Feel free to list them in comments.

Wallabies Got Up

So I didn't get up in the middle of the night to watch the Springboks host the Wallabies in Durban. However the Wallabies got up to win 14-9 anyway.
I watched the replay Sunday morning and was pleased with the better attitude and better commitment from the Aussies. Sure, there were things that could've been done better with some unfortunate handling errors and wasted opportunities, but you have to remember that they flew straight to South Africa only hours after a tough game against the All Blacks in Auckland. Had their luggage lost on the way. Had to front up to a full strength Springboks team. And play at one of the most hostile venues for any visiting team. (They also had to overcome one of the worst refereeing performances at international level I've seen in a long time - hang your head in shame Mr.Lawrence from NZ!)

Lasting memory will be this "match turning" tackle made by Anthony Faingaa. Down 9-8, Anthony's hit turned over possesion and resulted in a penalty to the Wallabies (11-9). It was a momentum shifter for sure. The Wallabies earnt another penalty through some excellent scrum work (14-9) and then had to hold off an intense Springbok raid on their line for the final minutes. I'm sure the lads will be glad for the week off and enjoy watching the Springboks and All Blacks going toe to toe next weekend. Next game will be Saturday the 27th of August at Brisbane. Looking forward to it big time.

The Old Blog

Back in the day I started writing funny things on this blog; http://youservebundyhereright.blogspot.com/ .
I thought I'd crank it up again, but after such a long break, I've forgotten the password... urgh! Anyway, now I've got this one. If you have time, take a look and let me know what you think.

2011 Cane2Coral

Cranked it up for the 8km Cane2Coral run yesterday morning. Beautiful day and great atmosphere. Saddend that there was an actual fatality - 61 year old gent running the 15km event suffered a heart attack 7kms from the finish.
Where'd I finish? I came in 346th (out of 2900) and 31st in my division (out of 130).

Big Gun

So proud. EJ selected to compete in shooting and rifle drill competition in Brisbane. (I think he just likes the food at Enoggera!)

The Unsinkable Pa!

He's survived the school of hard knocks. He's flown Corsairs. He's commanded submarines. He's beaten every enemy. Cancer.... take your best shot! You got nothing!
