Wallabies Got Up

So I didn't get up in the middle of the night to watch the Springboks host the Wallabies in Durban. However the Wallabies got up to win 14-9 anyway.
I watched the replay Sunday morning and was pleased with the better attitude and better commitment from the Aussies. Sure, there were things that could've been done better with some unfortunate handling errors and wasted opportunities, but you have to remember that they flew straight to South Africa only hours after a tough game against the All Blacks in Auckland. Had their luggage lost on the way. Had to front up to a full strength Springboks team. And play at one of the most hostile venues for any visiting team. (They also had to overcome one of the worst refereeing performances at international level I've seen in a long time - hang your head in shame Mr.Lawrence from NZ!)

Lasting memory will be this "match turning" tackle made by Anthony Faingaa. Down 9-8, Anthony's hit turned over possesion and resulted in a penalty to the Wallabies (11-9). It was a momentum shifter for sure. The Wallabies earnt another penalty through some excellent scrum work (14-9) and then had to hold off an intense Springbok raid on their line for the final minutes. I'm sure the lads will be glad for the week off and enjoy watching the Springboks and All Blacks going toe to toe next weekend. Next game will be Saturday the 27th of August at Brisbane. Looking forward to it big time.
